Hampshire Court Hotel & Spa Basingstoke, Basingstoke

My stay at the hotel was quite eventful. Despite some noise issues and a lack of guaranteed tranquility, the overall experience was not entirely relaxing. The room temperature was almost unbearable, and I had to deal with disruptive neighbors, necessitating management involvement twice. However, the staff's friendliness and helpfulness did make a positive impact.

The hotel offers fairly basic but clean and comfortable rooms with everything you need. Unfortunately, the ambiance was not relaxing due to the lack of cleanliness. The staff, though, was helpful but somewhat out of their comfort zone.

Upon check-in, I noticed the desk and the room were quite dirty, and the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly. Despite booking a deluxe room, it felt small. On the positive side, the staff went out of their way to prepare my room early knowing I had just been discharged from the hospital. They were exceptionally friendly, helpful, and efficient, especially considering the limited staff available. The location was ideal for me as it was near a shopping center and convenient for visiting family. However, the evening ambiance felt impersonal and cafeteria-like. The dining experience, although initially confusing, improved during their first week of serving food again, but some dishes arrived cold. The facilities were as expected, yet there was a misunderstanding about a reimbursement fee that required resolution at the front desk.
